The LCH Community Health Center in Kennett Square, PA

We are dedicated to helping adults, teens, and children to be and stay healthy.

Our team of primary care providers, chronic care specialists, nurses, behavioral health consultants, case workers, medical assistants, nutritionists, and interpreters work as a team to provided integrated, Person-Centered Care to the greater southern Chester County community.

Insurance or no insurance, LCH will take care of you. We evaluate everyone to determine eligibility for discounted services. Our sliding scale fees are based on your income and family size. We don’t turn anyone away due to inability to pay.

We emphasize preventive care, and educate our patients on how life experiences and influences at work and at home can affect overall health.

Through our integrated electronic health record system, LCH Centricity, service providers can understand social and environmental influences firsthand on each patient. The LCH team has a full understanding of a patient’s situation, and works together to help move the patients forward to the next level of health, independence, and confidence.

LCH is certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Level I Physicians Practice Connections ® – Patient-Centered Medical Home ™. LCH is a Federally Qualified Health Care Center (F and a Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Deemed facility.  In 2013, LCH was in listed as one of the top five Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s) out of the 40 FQHC’s in the state of Pennsylvania.

Our specialists work with patients and their families on how to manage chronic diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

It takes lifestyle change to manage a chronic disease, and the whole family needs to understand how to support healthy choices for the health of the patient.

Care managers, health educators and social services staff work together to ensure the patient is making healthy lifestyle changes to manage their chronic diseases. LCH continues to bring awareness and resources to the community through outreach and programs.

    It depends. Some people want to lose weight. Some people might have diabetes or another chronic condition that requires you to pay more attention to what you eat. Or they have a child who is a picky eater and they need some strategies for getting more fruits and vegetables in their diet. Food is a very important part of your health and your life!

    Nutrition counseling is for members of LCH on the medical side, so you do have to be a patient of one of our health centers. We are accepting new patients, so please join us!

Our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist teaches patients on healthy eating for many different reasons.

Patients meet with the nutritionist for reasons like prevention, weight loss, wellness promotion, and disease-specific diets as prescribed by our medical providers.
Nutrition education can also help families with meal time planning, infant and child nutrition, and breastfeeding.

    When did you join the LCH team?

    I joined the team in August 2019.

    Where did you go to school for your medical training?

    I attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA  for my Bachelor of Science degree and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine for my medical school education.

    What type of medicine is your specialty?

    Family Medicine,  but I am also certified in Functional Medicine, a form of integrative medicine that seeks to get to the root cause of complex chronic disease.

    Why do you like working at LCH?

    I like LCH because every on is so positive and pleasant. There is a very unique culture in our staff the is infectious (in a good way).  The patients are also super pleasant and appreciative of the care we provide.

    What is your most important health tip for patients?

    The most important tool that you have is your fork!  We truly are what we eat and we get to make choices many times a day about what we put in to our bodies. Food is sharing, love, culture, energy and information for our bodies. Learn very carefully how to eat for good health and a good life.

    Do one thing that makes yourself happy every day. People forget the importance of the mind, body, and spirit connection. We must take care of our whole-selves.

    Why do you like working at LCH?

    It has long been a passion of mine to help those most in need and I like that LCH focuses on culturally appropriate and equal care regardless of insurance status. The strong community ties, integrated primary/behavioral health model, and all of the social services and education at LCH are exactly what is needed to decrease health disparities and improve population health.

    What is your most important health tip for patients?

    I think the single most important health tip for anyone, not only our patients, is to get up and move! So many of the health problems we face today can be averted with just 30 minutes of moderate exercise each day.

    I joined LCH in March 2018.

    Where did you go to school for your health care training?

    I obtained master’s degrees in nursing and public health at the Yale School of Nursing and Medicine concurrently and graduated in 1990 from their joint program.  I am currently in a nursing doctoral program at Regis University.

    Family practice.  I am certified in family practice as well.

    Why do you like working at LCH?

    Much of my professional practice has been working with underserved communities in federally qualified health centers so LCH is a good fit for me.  I knew LCH when it was Project Salud and applaud its work with the community it serves. I’m proud to be part of the LCH team!

    Be an advocate for yourself and your loved ones when it comes to health care.  Ask for what you need and reach out when you need our help!
